Lightweight Wheelchairs

Lightweight wheelchairs are sometimes referred to as portable wheelchairs, transit wheelchairs, transport wheelchairs or light wheelchairs. These are all designed to be more portable than other wheelchairs, however some are more so than others, at the sacrifice of more features. Therefore, the most portable lightweight wheelchairs are extremely basic and require another person to push them, whereas slightly less portable options are able to be self-propelled and are more comfortable and durable.
